How it works

An AI machine built
for weather markets

The bot collects data, builds a forecast, and automatically enters positions when the edge is there.

01
🌡️

Weather data aggregation

Every minute the bot pulls from NOAA, OpenWeather, WeatherAPI and 15 other sources to build a real ensemble temperature forecast.

02
🧠

AI market analysis

The model compares its forecast to live Polymarket odds. It identifies inefficiencies — where market probability is meaningfully wrong.

03

Automated trading

Via the Polymarket CLOB API, the bot opens sized positions with calculated risk limits. Everything runs automatically, around the clock.

Setup Guide

Up and running
in 15 minutes

A complete step-by-step guide — from creating a wallet to your first automated trade. Set up once, runs forever.

Setting up MetaMask

1

Install MetaMask

Go to metamask.io and install the official browser extension for Chrome, Firefox, or Brave. Only download from the official site or the Chrome Web Store — fakes exist.

⚠️ Danger! Fake MetaMask extensions steal wallets. Always check the URL: metamask.io
2

Create a dedicated wallet for the bot

Click "Create a new wallet" and set a strong password. MetaMask will show you a 12-word seed phrase — write it down on paper and store it offline.

⚠️ Never use your personal wallet for the bot. Create a separate account exclusively for trading. If anything goes wrong, your personal funds stay safe.
3

Add the Polygon network

Polymarket runs on Polygon. In MetaMask open Settings → Networks → Add network manually and enter:

Network Name: Polygon Mainnet
RPC URL: https://polygon-rpc.com
Chain ID: 137
Symbol: POL
Block Explorer: https://polygonscan.com
💡 Shortcut: go to chainlist.org → find Polygon (137) → click "Add to MetaMask" — everything fills in automatically.
4

Fund your wallet

Send two assets to your new MetaMask address on the Polygon network:

USDC.e — trading capital (minimum $20–50 recommended)
POL (MATIC) — gas for transactions (~$2–5, about 5–10 POL)

Buy USDC.e and POL on Binance, OKX, or another exchange and withdraw to your MetaMask address via the Polygon network, not Ethereum.

⚠️ Do not send USDC via the Ethereum network (ERC-20) — it won't appear in Polymarket. Always select Polygon when withdrawing from an exchange.
5

Copy your wallet address (public)

Open MetaMask — at the top you'll see an address like 0x1234...abcd. Click it to copy. This is your public address and is safe to share.

💡 You'll need this address in Step 3 of the Telegram bot setup ("MetaMask wallet address").
6

Export your private key (for the bot)

In MetaMask: ⋮ → Account details → Show private key → enter password → copy the key. It looks like a long 64-character string (may start with 0x).

🔐 CRITICAL:
• Never send your private key via Telegram, email, or notes
• Never take a screenshot of it
• Never store it in cloud services (Google Drive, iCloud, etc.)
• Only paste it into the WeatherEdge Telegram bot setup form
• The key is needed only ONCE — after setup the bot uses auto-generated API keys
• If the key is compromised, immediately move funds to a new wallet
7

What to paste where in the Telegram bot

When the WeatherEdge Telegram bot asks for data, you'll need:

Step 3 → MetaMask wallet address: public address (0x...)
Step 5 → Private key: private key (64 characters)

❌ Common mistakes

  • Using a personal wallet instead of a dedicated one — risk of losing all personal funds
  • Withdrawing USDC via the Ethereum (ERC-20) network instead of Polygon
  • Downloading MetaMask from an unofficial site (phishing)
  • Storing the private key in a Telegram chat or notes app
  • Not topping up POL for gas — transactions fail

Setting up Polymarket

1

Open polymarket.com

Go to polymarket.com and click the "Connect Wallet" button in the top right corner.

2

Connect via MetaMask — required!

From the wallet list, select MetaMask and confirm the connection in MetaMask.

⚠️ Do not sign up via email or Google! Those methods create a proxy wallet with extra restrictions that prevent the bot from working. MetaMask only.
3

Sign the trading permission

Polymarket will ask you to sign an "Enable Trading" message in MetaMask. This is safe — it doesn't transfer funds, it just confirms your identity.

💡 Signing in MetaMask ≠ a transaction. No funds are moved.
4

Find your address in Polymarket

After connecting, open your profile. You'll see your wallet address — this is your Polymarket funder address. Copy it.

💡 You'll need this address in Step 4 of the Telegram bot setup ("Polymarket wallet address").
5

Deposit funds into Polymarket

Click "Deposit" in Polymarket and transfer USDC.e from your MetaMask wallet. Network: Polygon. Minimum recommended: $20–50 to start.

Network: Polygon
Token: USDC.e
Minimum: $20–50 USDC.e
⚠️ Funds must be inside your Polymarket balance, not just in MetaMask. The bot only trades funds deposited into Polymarket.
6

API keys are generated automatically

You do not need to manually create Polymarket API keys. WeatherEdge automatically generates POLYMARKET_API_KEY, API_SECRET, and API_PASSPHRASE from your private key during setup.

💡 Simple security model: Private key = your identity (needed once at setup). API keys = the bot's trading pass (auto-generated and stored in your Heroku).

❌ Common mistakes

  • Signing up via email or Google — the bot can't trade through a proxy wallet
  • Not depositing into Polymarket — the bot starts but has no funds to trade
  • Topping up MetaMask but forgetting to Deposit inside Polymarket
  • Entering the MetaMask address instead of the Polymarket address in Step 4 of the form
  • Trying to generate API keys manually — this is not needed

Deploying to Heroku

1

Create a Heroku account

Go to heroku.com, click "Sign up" and register. Heroku is the cloud server where your bot will live and run 24/7.

💡 The Eco plan ($5/month) is enough for one bot. This is paid directly to Heroku, not to us.
2

Find your Heroku API Key

After logging into Heroku: click your name in the top right → Account Settings → scroll down to the "API Key" section → click "Reveal" → copy the key.

heroku.com → Account Settings → API Key → Reveal → Copy
⚠️ Don't confuse the API Key with your app name or Heroku password. You need the long key from Account Settings, which looks like: xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx
3

Paste the key into the Telegram bot

Paste the copied Heroku API Key into the WeatherEdge Telegram bot form (Step 1). This allows the system to automatically deploy the bot to your Heroku account.

💡 What happens after you provide the key: the system automatically creates a Heroku app, configures all environment variables (private key, API keys, etc.), and connects the bot code.
4

Wait for admin confirmation

After you've provided all data and confirmed app creation, an administrator manually deploys the code from GitHub into your Heroku app. You'll receive a Telegram message when the bot is ready.

5

Verify the bot is running

Go to dashboard.heroku.com → find your new app (named like we-123456-...) → click More → View logs.

Normal startup looks like this:

WeatherEdge bot started.
Run polling for bot @YourBot...
Scanning weather markets...
Found N active temperature markets
💡 If you see "insufficient funds" errors — top up your Polymarket deposit. If you see "invalid API key" — contact support.
6

Managing the bot

All actions are done through the Heroku Dashboard for your app:

Pause the bot: Resources → Worker dyno → switch to 0
Resume the bot: Resources → Worker dyno → switch to 1
View logs: More → View logs
Change settings: Settings → Config Vars
💡 If the dyno restarts — this is normal. Heroku occasionally restarts containers. The bot resumes automatically after a restart.

❌ Common mistakes

  • Entering the Heroku password instead of the API Key — these are different things
  • Entering an app name instead of the API Key
  • Not activating the Eco plan — the dyno won't start without a subscription
  • Panicking when the dyno restarts — this is normal Heroku behavior
  • Manually deleting the Heroku app after an issue — contact support and we'll restore it

FAQ

Common questions

Is it safe to give the bot my private key? +
We strongly recommend using a dedicated wallet for the bot only — fund it with only what you intend to trade. The private key is stored exclusively in your Heroku Config Vars and is never transmitted to or stored by us.
Why does Heroku cost only $7/month? +
The bot runs as a background worker process, which only requires Heroku's Eco plan ($7/month). This is paid directly to Heroku — it's not our fee. You control your own server and can shut it down anytime.
Is profit guaranteed? +
No. Trading on prediction markets always carries risk of loss. The bot has a statistical edge (~99% win rate) but individual trades can be losers. Only trade with funds you can afford to lose.
Is Polymarket available in my country? +
Polymarket restricts access in some jurisdictions. You are responsible for complying with your local laws and regulations regarding prediction markets.
How quickly does the bot deploy? +
After payment in the Telegram bot, the auto-deploy takes 3–5 minutes. The bot creates your Heroku app, configures environment variables, deploys from GitHub, and sends you a step-by-step startup guide — all automatically.
What's the minimum deposit to start? +
The bot can work with any deposit size. We recommend starting with at least $100–200 USDC to allow meaningful position sizing. The more capital, the more the bot can diversify across multiple markets.
